Delorean scores operational licenses for Australian bioenergy project

October 20, 2026 |

In Australia, Delorean announced that its 100%-owned SA1 Salisbury Bioenergy Project in Edinburgh Parks, South Australia has been issued an operational licence by the South Australian Environment Protection Authority (SA EPA).

The granting and issuing of the SA EPA operational licence represents an important step towards commencing organic waste receival at SA1 and biological commissioning. Delorean will progressively onboard waste suppliers into the facility as commissioning commences, initially prioritising packaged organic waste to support controlled commissioning activities. Feedstock acceptance will subsequently expand to include suitable liquid and solid organic waste streams as the facility progresses towards full commercial operations, in accordance with EPA licence conditions and operational readiness. Construction of the SA1 Facility is approximately 90% complete, with the project progressing towards waste acceptance and first renewable gas (biomethane) injection into the Adelaide gas network.
