YPF secures TotalEnergies offtake deal for Argentina’s first SAF plant
In Argentina, InfoBAE reports state-controlled oil company YPF has signed a long-term agreement with TotalEnergies to purchase the output of its planned sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel facility in San Lorenzo, Santa Fe. The plant, developed through joint venture Santa Fe Bio with Essential Energy, is designed to produce 170,000 metric tons annually of SAF and hydrotreated vegetable oil. The project requires investment exceeding $400 million, with production expected toward the end of 2029. The agreement provides a foundation for project financing and a potential application to Argentina’s large-investment incentive regime.
