October 15, 2026 |

In Germany, Munich Startup reports startup TURN2X has raised $23 million to expand production of e-methane, a synthetic natural gas made using renewable hydrogen and biogenic carbon dioxide. Its commercial plant in Miajadas, Spain, uses flexible methanation technology designed to take advantage of surplus renewable electricity. TURN2X is targeting expansion to more than 1 terawatt-hour of e-methane annually in the coming years. The funding follows the start of commercial deliveries and a supply agreement with environmental commodity trader STX Group for certified renewable fuel.
