Monument Chemical to add THFA and 2-MeTHF capacity

October 12, 2026 |

In Indiana, Monument Chemical is expanding capacity to produce tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol and 2-methyltetrahydrofuran, two biobased solvents used across pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and specialty applications. The expansion is part of a new agreement with Minasolve, which is winding down its US-based production of these solvents.

“This is exactly the kind of opportunity we look for – one where our capabilities, assets, and people allow us to solve a real need for customers,” Sarves Peri, President, Monument Chemical, said in a press statement. “We know these products and markets well, and we’re ready to build on that foundation to strengthen global supply and better serve our customers.”

For Minasolve, identifying the right partner to carry the business forward was important. “As we sharpen our focus on other biobased chemicals, it was important to identify a partner with the experience and capabilities to continue supporting our customers for the long term,” said Frédéric Marmousez, CEO of Minafin Group.

Over the coming months, Monument and Minasolve will work closely with customers to understand individual requirements and support a smooth transition.
