Italy’s RINA and Thailand’s PTT explore cleaner fuels and maritime technologies
In Thailand, Italian engineering and certification company RINA announced Oct. 6 that it had signed two agreements with Thailand’s national energy company PTT to explore research cooperation on alternative fuels, vessel electrification and other energy and maritime technologies.
The memoranda of understanding with PTT’s Innovation Institute establish a framework for technical cooperation, knowledge sharing and potential joint research.
RINA Consulting will contribute engineering expertise, and RINA Services will provide expertise in certification, verification, assurance and vessel classification.
