Conab forecasts a 0.7% increase in Brazil’s soybean harvest in 2026/27
In Brazil, UOL reported that Brazil’s 2026/27 soybean crop was estimated at a record 181.64 million tons, but a growth of only 0.7% year-on-year, according to the first projections from the National Supply Company (Conab).
The area planted with soybeans is expected to increase by 1.4% compared to the previous cycle, reaching 49.3 million hectares, according to the state-owned company.
According to the state-owned company, average productivity in the new cycle is expected to show a slight reduction, due to the high comparison base of the 2025/26 harvest, in addition to the climatic risks during a period of El Niño occurrence.
Soybean exports are expected to increase by 1.5%, to 117.98 million tons, mainly due to expectations that Chinese purchases will remain at high levels, the report added.
