Twelve secures up to $45 million to expand e-fuels plant
In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that US carbon transformation company Twelve has secured a credit facility of up to $45 million to refinance the construction loan for its now-operational AirPlant One facility in Washington and fund an expansion of the plant.
The AirPlant One facility in Moses Lake applies Twelve’s power-to-liquid technology to produce E-Jet sustainable aviation fuel and E-Naphtha from CO2, water and renewable electricity. The plant is powered by hydropower from the Columbia River, according to the report.
The company said the financing will support additional hydrogen production capacity at the site. AirPlant One is Twelve’s first commercial-scale E-Jet production facility and has delivered on-spec E-Jet for commercial aviation use and expects Alaska Airlines to operate flights using the fuel later this year, the report added.
