Top Brazilian biodiesel producer expands B100 in its road operations

September 10, 2026 |

In Brazil, Petronoticias reports Binatural, one of the largest biodiesel producers in the country, is expanding the use of pure biofuel (B100), in road operations involving its own fleet, partner carriers and customers. Initiatives should avoid the emission of more than 1,600 tons of CO2 in three years, according to methodology based on the GHG Protocol, volume equivalent to planting of approximately 35 thousand trees. The experience accumulated in these operations also led the company to join the Green Logistics Program Brazil (PLVB), an initiative aimed at advancing sustainability in Brazilian logistics. The strategy is supported by the environmental performance of biodiesel produced by the company. Binatural registers carbon intensity of 5.25 g CO2eq/MJ, approximately 94% lower than about 87 g fossil diesel. The company also has Energy-Environmental Efficiency Note (NEEA) of 81.25 in RenovaBio, indicators that reinforce the contribution of biofuel to the reduction of emissions in applications requiring decarbonization solutions available at scale.
