Vilnius completes $10.8M green hydrogen plant
In Lithuania, Fuel Cell Works reports Vilnius has completed construction of a 3-MW green hydrogen plant at its Second Combined Heat and Power Plant, with testing underway and the city’s first public hydrogen fueling station being installed. The project is valued at about $10.8 million, including approximately $6.1 million in European Union funding. Production is expected to begin by the end of 2026. The facility will initially supply 16 hydrogen-powered buses, potentially cutting about 1,400 metric tons of CO₂ annually. At maximum capacity, the plant could produce about 285,000 kilograms of hydrogen per year, enough for roughly 40 buses.
