Air Products and Nobian sign long-term agreement for RFNBO-compliant hydrogen
In the Netherlands, Nobian and Air Products have signed a long-term agreement for the offtake of RFNBO-compliant, certified hydrogen produced at Nobian’s Rotterdam facility.
The certified RFNBO hydrogen is produced at Nobian’s renewables-powered chlor-alkali electrolysis plant, which became in 2025 the first large-scale European renewable hydrogen producer to receive ISCC EU certification for RFNBO. With more than 14,000 tons of annual hydrogen production capacity, the Nobian facility in Rotterdam is Europe’s largest RFNBO-certified hydrogen plant.
By providing RFNBO-compliant certified hydrogen through its existing infrastructure, Air Products supports RED III obligations in the Netherlands while reinforcing Rotterdam’s role as a hydrogen hub. The agreement expands access to RFNBO-certified hydrogen through Air Products’ established network, supporting customers’ compliance and decarbonization goals, said Air Products.
