U.S. ethanol production falls as heat reduces plant efficiency
In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production averaged 1.089 million barrels per day, down 28,000 barrels from the previous week as high temperatures reduced plant efficiency. Production remained 17,000 barrels per day above last year, supported by positive margins and demand expectations. Ethanol stocks increased 323,000 barrels to 25.121 million, 2.433 million above year-ago levels. Refinery and blender inputs rose, while gasoline supplied fell to an 11-week low. Exports averaged 129,000 barrels per day, up 20,000 week over week but down 43,000 from a year earlier.
