Malaysia palm oil stocks reach five-month high
In Malaysia, the New Straits Times reports Malaysia’s palm oil inventories rose 3.3% month over month to 2.63 million metric tons in July, their highest level in five months, as production growth outpaced exports. Malaysian Palm Oil Board data showed production increased 9.4% to 1.79 million tons, while exports rose 14.5% to 1.39 million tons. Despite higher inventories, analysts expect crude palm oil prices to remain firm through the second half of 2026 because of concerns over El Niño and tightening global supplies. Strong shipments to India, the EU, and Middle East helped limit the inventory increase.
