Datagro projects record corn yield and increased soybean production in Brazil in 2026/27.
In Brazil, Canal Rural reported that Brazilian soybean and corn production is expected to grow again in the 2026/27 crop season, according to the first planting intention survey by Datagro Grãos.
The consultancy projects an increase in cultivated area for both crops and considers a scenario of relatively favorable weather conditions, despite the possibility of localized instabilities.
The area dedicated to soybeans is estimated at 49.3 million hectares, a 0.3% increase over the 49.2 million hectares cultivated in the 2025/26 season. If confirmed, this will be the twentieth consecutive expansion of the oilseed planting area in Brazil, albeit at a more moderate pace.
The report also highlighted that Datagro projects a national average productivity of 3,763 kilograms per hectare, 1% above the estimated record for the current harvest, of 3,718 kg/ha.
With this, Brazilian soybean production has the potential to reach 185.6 million tons, a volume 1% higher than the 182.8 million tons projected for 2025/26.
