D4/D5 RIN supplies remain under pressure despite June rebound
In Washington, Bloomberg reports Generation of D4 and D5 Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) climbed to 861.7 million in June but remained well below the roughly 959 million needed to meet the EPA’s projected compliance obligation, including export-related requirements. As a result, the RIN bank is estimated to have fallen to about 1.07 billion credits by the end of June, down sharply from 3.1 billion at the start of the compliance year. Analysts warn that refinery maintenance, export commitments, biodiesel import challenges, and stronger diesel prices could tighten supplies further, potentially driving another increase in RIN prices ahead of the March 2027 compliance deadline.
