Indonesia lines up green hydrogen refueling corridor from Jakarta
In the UK, Gas World reported that Indonesia could launch a 194km green hydrogen refueling corridor linking Jakarta with industrial hubs in west Java.
The initiative aims to initially set up a hydrogen refueling station equipped with 100kg of onsite production capacity, then expand outward to connect the capital with 12 nearby industrial areas and logistics systems, according to the report.
It will incorporate an existing station developed by state-owned utility PT PLN and one in construction by PT Toyota Manufacturing Indonesia. No timeline was provided for the corridor’s finalization.
Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, highlighted global geopolitical uncertainty and threats to energy supplies, calling hydrogen a “crucial alternative energy source.”
