Ukraine’s grain and oilseed exports decline in 2025/26, while export value remains nearly unchanged, UGA says
In Ukraine, APKInform reported that according to estimates by the Ukrainian Grain Association, Ukraine exported 41.1 million tons of grains and oilseeds in the 2025/26 marketing year, down from 46.7 million tons in the previous season and well below the 57.5 million tons exported in the 2023/24 season.
The decline was attributed to lower grain and oilseed production, the introduction of wheat import quotas by the European Union, and the logistical disruptions caused by Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine’s energy and transport infrastructure, including ports and deep-water grain terminals.
Export volumes were also affected by conditions on the global market, including fuel prices. Together, these factors limited the volume of Ukrainian grain exports through the deep-water ports of Odesa, the report added.
Wheat exports totaled nearly 14 million tons, compared with 15.5 million tons in the previous season, with a value of $3 billion.
Meanwhile, corn exports in the 2025/26 season totaled 21 million tons, compared with 21.5 million tons a season earlier, with a value of nearly $4.6 billion. The top three importers were Turkey with 6.46 million tons, Italy with 3.793 million tons, and Spain with 1.926 million tons, the report added.
