China exports more HVO than FAME for the first time in May
In China, ResourceWise reports China exported more hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) than fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) biodiesel for the first time in May, signaling a shift in the country’s biofuel export mix. HVO exports rose 11.5% month over month to about 43,500 metric tons, while biodiesel exports fell more than 52% to roughly 38,500 metric tons. Although biodiesel remains the leading export year to date, HVO’s share of combined biofuel exports climbed to 53% in May. Europe, particularly the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region, remains the dominant destination for Chinese HVO exports
