Greece doubles down on US LNG

June 17, 2026 |

In Greece, Greek LNG trading joint venture Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade has doubled its 20-year purchase agreement with Venture Global to 1 million tonnes of US liquefied natural gas annually from 2030.

Atlantic-SEE, owned 60% by Greece’s AKTOR Group and 40% by DEPA Commercial, previously agreed to buy at least 500,000 tonnes per year. The expanded contract will supply Greece and markets across Central and Eastern Europe through the South-North Vertical Corridor.

Venture Global has also invested in Greece by securing regasification capacity equal to about 25% of the Alexandroupolis floating LNG terminal, where imported gas can enter the regional pipeline system.

The larger contract commits Atlantic-SEE to purchasing 20 million tonnes over its full term and deepens Venture Global’s role in moving US LNG through Greece into regional markets.
