Hummingbird receives development funding for AI-enabled real-time crop imagery

In the UK, SmithsonHill Ltd invested an undisclosed amount in Hummingbird, a start-up focused on precision farming, to enable the next generation development of the software architecture for their machine learning algorithms. Hummingbird, a data analytics and artificial intelligence business, is focused on pairing drones with data collection software to generate real-time land and crop imagery.

SmithsonHill Ltd is a Cambridge-based joint venture between landowners Russell Smith Farms Limited and Hill Commercial Investments Limited who are united in their vision for the future of AgriTech.
