In the United Kingdom, Innovate UK gave Oxford Genetics a £1.6 million grant, about $2 million, so they can conduct a research project in collaboration with the University of Oxford over the next three years. The research will focus on improving bioinformatics and statistical analysis for pharmaceutical clients and so they can increase production yields of biological drugs and better design proteins and cells.

This is the second grant from Innovate UK to Oxford Genetics who last month received a $1 million grant for research on scaling up viral vector production which is used to deliver genetic material into cells.
