Ethanol producers tout hairspray, aromatherapy, corn oil, organic vodka among new ethanol by-products

At the American Coalition for Ethanol annual conference this week in Nebraska, presenters highlighted new markets for products from ethanol plants. VeraSun touted the extraction of corn oil, while Chippewa Valley ethanol touted its food flavoring s extract alcohols, aromatherapy products, hairspray and “priairie” brand organic vodka.

    I can never get to read everything you write because you are so productive. I would leave one comment on your pressure-acid-oxygen to ethanol financial numbers. Here at Hilton Head Island, they charge us about $40 per ton to accept our garbage into the landfill. Admittedly some of that is inorganic construction materials, but the total should effect the bottom line.
    As ridiculous as that sounds, last fall they were charging $48 per ton to accept recyclables. They wee expecting to find a better processor at the New Year.
