Gushan to suspend biodiesel production at Fujian plant over tax dispute; attempting to transfer production to other plants
In China, Gushan Environmental Energy said that it will suspend biodisel production at its Fujian plant due to a dispute over consumption tax liabilities. The company said that it is attempting to arrange to transfer shipments of feedstocks to other Gushan facilities, as well as transfer employees while the dispute is ongoing, but warned that it may not be entirely successful in making up for all of the lost production.
The company was not able to issue guidance on a resolution timetable for the dispute. Total production capacity at Fujian is 30,000 tons of biodiesel; the company opened a 50,000 tonne biodiesel plant in March in Beijing.
