“Where’s the money” asks report on Swan Biomass cellulosic ethanol research center

In Pennsylvania, questions are swirling about where almost $600,000 million in research funding went to for the Swan Biomass ethanol research project. The company, which had been developing a cellulosic ethanol research center in Lawrence Township, owes creditors more than $400,000 according to court filings has had several court judgments against it and owes creditors at least $428,990, according to court documents.

The company was allocated a $2 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant from the state of Pennsylvania but the Clearfield County Commissioner said that company never fulfilled the grant requirements and did not receive the funds.
