Glencore to manage Brazil’s troubled Agrenco biodiesel operations, option to purchase; Marialva plant divested to BSBIOS

In Brazil, Glencore Importadora and Exportadora will assume management control of struggling soybean processing and biodiesel producing company Agrenco, and will have an option to purchase the biodiesel and grain processing assets.

Rivals such as Louis Dreyfus have been pursuing Agrenco assets since 2008. The company also announced that it would divest its Marialva biodiesel plant in Parana state to BSBIOS for an undisclosed price.
