American Soybean Association tells congressional subcommittee that EPA ILUC rules are “unprecedented, untested”

in Washington, representatives from the American Soybean Association told the U.S. House of Representatives Small Business Subcommittee on Regulations, Healthcare and Trade that “the proposed EPA rule on indirect land use change “contains unprecedented, untested and far-reaching indirect land use assumptions and projections which will adversely impact markets for U.S. farmers and impede our national efforts to reduce dependence on foreign oil and thus impede efforts to improve our environmental footprint.”

The group was testifying on what it believed to be numerous flaws in the proposed bill, which virtually wipes out biodiesel as a qualifying renewable fuel due to proposed indirect land use changes.
