Cilion, Codon Devices may be headed for wind-down: sources

In California, industry sources relate that high-visibility biofuels companies Cilion and Codon Devices are heading for potential wind-down.

Cilion is an ethanol venture that counts Khosla Ventures and Richard Branson’s investment group and was developing a 55 Mgy first generation ethanol plant in California’s Kern County and had hoped to have eight plants in operation by 2008.

Codon Systems is an advanced biofuels platform technology company that developed the BioLOGICâ„¢ protein engineering platform that is used by Algenol among other companies.
