Alabama’s Athens Biodiesel faces foreclosure, auction

In Alabama, Athens Biodiesel is facing foreclosure notices files by the Temecula Valley Bank of California, following reports in local media that Athens Utilities cut off electrical service last month for non-payment. The plant is behind on payroll, according to management, but has agreed on a payment plan with the utility. The company is also facing suits from Key Engineering, Byrd Maintenance and Integrity Electric over contract disputes. The company will be auctioned today at the county courthouse.
