In Florida, advanced biofuels developer New Generation Biofuels announced a change in leadership, with Cary Claiborne becoming CEO as well as retaining his CFO duties. He succeeds Dave Gillespie, who resigned.
New Generation owns the US, Caribbean and Central American licenses to a technology uses additives, rather than transesterification, to make a biofuel from straight vegetable oil without removing glycerine. The fuel is usable for power generation, heating and marine use, at a lower cost than biodiesel.
