13 seed companies, producers band together to form the North American Camelina Trade Association
Sustainable Oils, Great-Plains-The Camelina Company and camelina growers have joined together to form the North American Camelina Trade Association. The new organization will promote camelina R&D and well as the opening of new markets for field trials and roll-out of the high-performance oilseed. Last month, the FDA approved the use of camelina meal up to 10 percent of the total ration for chicken meal, a major step in demonstrating the commercial potential of camelina to growers. A total of 13 companies have joined the organization, which will hold its first annual meeting in October.
