9.6 Mgy cassava ethanol project in Philippines on track despite economic conditions

In the Philippines, Alsons Consolidated Resources confirmed that they are continuing with their Alcantara ethanol plant project at Bukidnon, and said that the company will commence construction in 2010 after completing financing. The plant will have a capacity of 9.6 Mgy and will utilize cassava as a feedstock. The project is being developed in partnership with Thailand’s Electricity Generation Public (Egco) and Japan’s Toyota Tsusho.
