Algal Industry Survey published: free download of results, profiling preferred technologies, locales for algae-to-energy expansion

algalsurveyThe organizers of Algae World have published an Algal Industry Survey, taken at the 2008 Algae World conference, of key issues in the growth, development, extraction and processing of algal fuels.

Respondents answered questions on the top biofuels that will be made from algae, the most likely form of growing system, and the location of algae production. Respondents favored open-pond systems over closed systems by a 2 to 1 margin, and while 38 percent of respondents believed that algal production was most likely to occur in the tropics.

The full survey report is available for free download here, and includes short profiles of dozens of algal fuel producers.
