In California, Carbon Sciences announced that it plans this spring to test its new biocatalyst technology that produces methane, ethane and propane from carbon dioxide. The company said that, if the test is successful and scalable, the company will proceed to develop the technology as a means of converting CO2 emissions from power plants, oil refineries, and other industrial CO2 sources such as ethanol plants and cement kils to liquid fuels. The technology was developed by the company’s CTO, Naveed Aslam.
