In India, Praj said that the production team at its pilot cellulosic ethanol plant at Praj Matrix near Pune, and had successfully demonstrated CE production from corn stover and sugarcane bagasse. The company said that its research center for cellulosic ethanol as the only one in its hemisphere, and would contribute towards the doubling of ethanol production by 2012.
The company said that it is in negotiations now with conventional sugarcane ethanol refineries and would shortly announce a demonstration-scale plant.
