In the UK, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) awarded $40 million to research teams at the Universities of Cambridge, Nottingham, Dundee and York, plus Rothamsted Research, the Scottish Crop Research Institute, and the Scottish Government Rural and Environment Research and Analysis Directorate. The Scottish government is also contributing to the project, which will research advanced biofuels solutions.
