In the Philippines, San Carlos BioEnergy announced. that it will commence production by mid-January at its 8 Mgy sugarcane ethanol plant in Negros Occidental. The company said it will be able to fulfill the national 5 percent ethanol mandate by February. The plant will also produce 8 MW of power, and will utilize 400,000 tons of sugarcane from the company’s 19,500 acre plantations.
