In Chile, Ghana-based Gold Star Biofuels announced that it has won a contract to construct 77 Mgy of biodiesel capacity. B20 biodiesel will be utilized at a 43MW Energy Partners Chile production center in Degan. Goldstar said that it has commitments of 2.5 million acres in Chile to cultivate jatropha, and will establish eight individual 10.5 Mgy biodiesel plants throughout the country. US FuelTech is providing the turn-key biodiesel technology.
