POET, KL Energy, GreenShift and Primafuel among winners of 2008 Biofuels Digest Achievement Awards
[BIOFUELS DIGEST NEWSWIRE] MIAMI, FL — Biofuels Digest announced this morning that POET, KL Energy, GreenShift and Primafuel were among the winners of the 2008 Biofuels Digest Achievement Awards.
The awards recognize companies and individuals for specific achievements in biofuels development or research.
POET received the Biofuels Digest Award for Achievement in first-generation ethanol, in recognition of achieving high yields and reduced energy inputs in ethanol production through its BPX technology.
KL Energy received the Biofuels Digest Achievement Award for Cellulosic Ethanol, in recognition of achieving the largest actual production volume for an advanced biofuel, increases in glucose recovery rate and reduction in enzyme use.
GreenShift and Primafuel received the Biofuels Digest Achievement Award in Biodiesel for their corn oil extraction systems that add value to ethanol production as well as producing a biodiesel feedstock from an ethanol process by-product.
The Biofuels Digest Awards for Achievement in Advanced Biofuels and Feedstocks, and for Citizen of the Year, will be announced tomorrow (Friday, December 18). The Biofuels Digest “50 Hottest Companies in Bioenergy” rankings will be published Monday, December 21st.
Biofuels Digest, the world’s most widely-read biofuels daily, established the Awards in 2007 to recognize “demonstrable achievement in bioenergy development”.
