bdawards1Biofuels Digest announced that Solazyme and film director and author Josh Tickell were among the winners of the 2008 Biofuels Digest Achievement Awards. The awards recognize companies and individuals for specific achievements in biofuels development or research.

Solazyme received the Biofuels Digest Award for Achievement in Advanced Biofuels & Feedstocks for their pioneering production of algae-based aviation fuel and motor transport biodiesel.

Josh Tickell received the Biofuels Digest Citizen of the Year Award for the creation of the documentary film “FUEL”, an update of the Sundance Award-winning “Fields of Fuel”.
