Mayors propose $73 billion in spending, Western Governors “tens of billions” as authorities aims for slices of $150 billion Obama energy plan

Investors.com is reporting on the scope of the expected Obama energy plan, and highlighted a request in the “tens of billions” from the Western Governors Association for energy infrastructure improvements. Meanwhile, the US conference of Mayors has also submitted an outline of its needs to the President-elect, including $10 billion for Miami, the home city of US Conference of Mayors president Manny Diaz. In total, the mayors requested $73 billion. President-elect Obama has pledged a program of $150 billion in renewable energy related spending, and has called for sweeping improvements in energy efficiency as well as for the development of a 150mpg plug-in hybrid by 2015.
