In Virginia, Exmore Energy Project has received council approval for a long-delayed biodiesel plant. The company will utilize an expandable biodiesel production system from GreenShift. The plant’s owners, then operaitng under the name US Biodiesel, filed for the permit in 2007, and the current ownership team subsequently bought out those interests. The company and local critics have been trading barbs over whether the plant is required to submit an environmental impact statement. The Exmore Council voted to grant a special-use permit for the project.
