Algae biodiesel and anaerobic digestion facility proposed in Ohio, by Columbus Zoo, Honda, Ohio Grovers, Rockwell
In Ohio, an algae biofuel and anaerobic digestion plant was proposed by a group of collaborators including the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Ohio State University, Honda, the Ohio Grocers Association, Rockwell Automation, the Center for Innovative Food Technology, Makel Engineering, George J. Igel and Company and Resource100 LT. The group proposed its “Scalable and Integrated Waste to Energy System” to the Third Frontier Commission. The proposed project would process Honda cafeteria and zoo restaurant food waste, ultimately producing compost, renewable power, algae biodiesel, and animal feed. The Ohio Third Frontier Commission supports high-tech projects for the state.
