In Thailand, the state oil company Bangchak Petroleum said that it will delay its ethanol project due to the uncertain economic conditions. BCP announced in October that it would construct a 19 Mgy ethanol plant in Ayutthaya that would open in early 2010. BCP said at the time that it would hold a 40 percent stake in the venture. However, the company confirmed that it remains on track to open its biodiesel plant in Ayutthaya that will have a capacity of 38 Mgy. The company said that it would expand its biodiesel distribution from 500 to 1000 stations by year-end.
