In Minnesota, the state Pollution Control Agency’s Citizens’ Board voted 8-0 to not require the proposed MinnErgy ethanol plant to create an environmental impact statement. The vote was taken after five hours of testimony this week, primarily focused on the projected surface and groundwater interactions of the plant and the accuracy of 30-day test pump data. The Board concluded that the information presented in the environmental assessment worksheet was sufficient. The proposed MinnErgy corn ethanol plant would be built near Eyota.
