In Hawaii, SunFuels said that it is seeking up to 37,000 acres of Hawaiian state land for production and harvest of eucalyptus. The company uses a proprietary Carbon-V gasification progress to convert biomass to diesel fuel, and projected yields of up to 18 Mgy from 37,000 acres. The company’s process also works with construction lumber waste and municipal solid waste.
