Oklahoma State researchers receive $20 million for switchgrass varietals development

Researchers at Oklahoma State University have received $20 million from the National Science Foundation and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for a five-year program studying switchgrass-to-biofuels. Under the program, the Oklahoma Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research will research new switchgrass varietals with better yields and quality. measure, and then figure out what the next step is. And it takes time. The only reason it’s as close to coming to fruition as it is is we started so early.”
