In Brazil, sugar and ethanol giant Sao Martinho announced an increase of 47 percent in EBITDA for the second quarter, due to increased sales and margins on both hydrous and anhydrous ethanol. The company said that operating profit increased to $15.7 million for the quarter, and projected that production for the quarter would total 100 millions gallons of ethanol. The company recently formed that ALLICOM consortium with Sao Joao and Santa Cruz to realize economies of scale in domestic and international sales efforts.
