Raven Biofuels inks MOU to build 33 Mgy cellulosic ethanol, furfural plant in Mississippi

In Mississippi, Raven Biofuels announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Price Biostock to construct a 33 Mgy wood waste ethanol plant in the Gulf Opportunity Zone. The company said the plant would produce 21 Mgy of ethanol and 12 Mgy of furfural, as well as lignin cake usable for fertilizer or feed. The Gulf Opportunity Zone was established in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and offers incentives that lower the cost of labor and feedstock.
