Biofuels Digest Index slumps 6.67 percent to 49.83 amidst global recession fears

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 6.67 percent to close at 49.83 as ethanol and petroleum tumbled hard on a rough day for global equities.  Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) gained 1.66 percent to close at $24.56, while British Petroleum (BP) slumped 10.50 percent to close at $42.13. Among small caps, Nova Biosource Fuels (NBF) fell 20.00 percent to $0.16. Overall, declines led advances 8 to 1 for the day.
