In Australia, the Queensland state government once again blocked a private members bill to mandate the use of ethanol. The state government said that it intends to establish a five percent ethanol mandate in 2010. An Opposition spokesperson said that Queensland should follow the example of the state of New South Wales and support the imposition of an immediate mandate.
