51 countries agree to form International Agency for Renewable Energies

In Spain, 51 countries have agreed to sponsor the formation of an International Agency for Renewable Energies. The new association, proposed by Germany, Spain and Denmark, will officially form at a signing ceremony in January in Bonn, Germany. The Association, which has not chosen its permanent home, will focus on supporting the development of renewable energy including policy development, financing, training and technology transfers. The agency will support development of renewable energy in both developed and undeveloped countries.
